Laurel Advocacy and Referral Services (LARS)

LARS is 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has provided services to homeless and low-income individuals and families in Laurel, Maryland since 1987. LARS’ mission is to enable homeless and low-come people in crisis to achieve stability and long-term self-sufficiency. LARS uses a holistic approach to stabilize households facing one-time or repeated financial crises through Emergency Services, Permanent Supportive Housing and Self-Sufficiency programs. LARS’ service area is South Central Maryland, which includes portions of Anne Arundel, Howard, and Prince George’s counties.

BRDIGE CENTER at ADAM’S HOUSE

The Bridge Center at Adam’s House is a one-stop shop that connects returning citizens, young adults (18-25), and Veterans to the support they need for a successful transition into the community.

The Bridge Center at Adam’s House offers the following services:

  • Behavioral health screenings & assessments

  • Case management & referrals

  • Peer support

  • Job training & employment assistance

  • Transportation support

  • Benefits enrollment

  • Veterans Affairs (VA) & claims assistance

  • Anger management courses

  • Child support assistance

  • Mentoring programs

  • Legal help

  • Vital documents assistance (IDs & birth certificates)
